Fishermen’s Strike Began Last Night
As of last night, December 14th, unions representing Icelandic fishermen have rejected the collective agreement that was signed with Fisheries Iceland (the organisation representing Icelandic fishing companies and vessel owners) in November. Members of the unions voted in an electronic ballot and the result is an indefinite strike that started yesterday, December 14th, at 8 pm.
At this point in time it is not possible to evaluate how long this strike will last or the impact it will have on HB Grandi‘s daily operations.
HB Grandi hopes that the two sides will come to an agreement as soon as possible.
